stopped bf 4 days ago, now hard lumps in breast, what to do?

ds 7 months, was excl bf, and was down to 1 small feed a day when i stopped, but this morning one breast has lots of little hardlumps - should i express, or just use some hot flannels on it etc?

Not had this but didn't want your post to go unanswered.

I would use hot flannels, massage toward nipple and express. You need to get rid of the lumps before they turn into mastitis.

I know this will stimulate more milk, but just express enough each day to make you feel comfortable and the production should slowly stop.

As above, but also savoy cabbage leaves in the bra will reduce the swelling. Also take ibuprofen to reduce your temperature and again the swelling.

You won't need to do it for more than three days don't worry. It should get much better by the weekend.
