Engorgement as baby starting to sleep through

My DS is 10 wks and is starting to sleep for 6hr+ stretches at night. I'm exclusively b/f him and find I'm waking in the night with painful full breasts. I'm worried that if I express in the night the problem will persist and I want to sleep through too!! Will my breasts/milk supply adjust to this change and/or is there something I can/should do?

Personally I would be extremely grateful, my children were all way older (like 2 years older) before they started sleeping 6 hours in a stretch!!

I am no breastfeeding expert but I would suggest expressing the minimum you can to allow yourself to sleep.

When DS started sleeping longer at night I had this. Your breasts will adjust, but I used to go and hand express a little out into the sink just to relieve the fullness a little so that I could sleep. You don't want to be doing a full express as it will only encourage more milk.
