hi. my dd is nearly 3 months old, exclusively breastfed and for tthe past week has had an orange tongue - doersn't seem related to what i'm eating. she doesn't seem particularly unhappy, but has anyone experienced this/know what it is. don't want to bother a doctor if it is common and not a problem.

shd i be cleaning her tongue and if so, how?

thx

Sorry I don't really know. I wouldn't have thought you needed to clean a babys mouth. A white tongue after a feed is common and a white tongue can also be a sign of thrush.

Never heard of Orange one though.

Bumping up for you

My son is 14 months old and has an orange tongue. It can be brushed off but the orange coating is stubborn and comes back! The doc has said nothing to worry about and there is no advice as I can see online.

Call me paranoid, (but not to my face... I'm quite a sensitive soul ;) this is not how a healthly tongue should look right??...

I believe it's a defiency of some sort. Vitamin A?

I have booked to see a dietician and I'll post the outcome if anyone else has similar or can shed any light.

I feed him soya milk as he gets diarrhea with cows milk. He has dry skin patches. Dairy intolerance or allergy? We'll see...

Thanks for your feedback.

Bump - Sairs, did you ever find out what it might mean? My 18 month old has just developed it. He's also dairy intolerant with dry skin patches. Anyone else got any bright ideas?
