My bf 4 week old's burps really smell! Should they?

Just wondered if there was something wrong with his digestion, esp as he is not gaining as he should.

smell how?

is it really eggy?

all 4 of mine had that, nothing wrong with their digestion

I always wondered if it was something I'd eaten, or not eaten, or whether I should be taking prebioitics / probiotics / more water with the gin By the time I'd done all that wondering they all seemed to have grown out of it!

As for not gaining as he should, are you using the breastfed baby charts? or the standard ones in the red book? I'm not a huge believer in charts (probably as my first 3 children all failed to follow their curve and HVs gave me a hard time with the oldest one). If your baby is gaining weight, has plenty of wet and dirty nappies, active and alert at times etc then I'm sure (as only a non-medical person who has never met you and is in no way qualified to comment can be....) that he's fine

Finally are you maiking sure you're taking care of yourself? you can only make good milk if you're eating and drinking well yourself
