He's ten months and bf, will he be ok to miss his snack feeds in the day?
I was pretty confident we'd be fine, but he won't keep out my bra this past week.

Anyone?

In terms of nutrition or comfort?

wastingmyeducation · 12/03/2009 11:17

Both really.

I'd imagine that from the nutritional pov he'll be fine... if he does get hungry at snack times could MIL offer him some food instead? A yogurt or a banana perhaps?

From the comfort pov, how is he with MIL? Does he know her well? How is he at being distracted? Maybe she could take him for a nice walk or to the park instead?

FWIW ds is now 8 months bf a lot still when around me but i've recently gone back to working shifts including 10 hour night shift. Was worried about how he'd cope but he just seems to get on with it. He's never had a bottle so generally replaces milk with feeds - or sometimes formula (from cup). He seems absolutely fine it's like milk is something he associates with me and knows if i'm not around he can't bf. I hope your day without him goes well.

Thank you! We've done some partial days, eg. taken him 10.30-3.30, but then he's had a 10 and 4 feed, but next week it'll be me gone 8.30-5.

He's fine with her, has a fun time and she won't get stressed if he does get upset for any reason which is a comfort to me.

I think I know he'll be fine. It's just reassurance I need I guess!

He'll be fine! (as will you )

I was leaving both my dds with MIL/Mum at that age when I was at work. dd2 was still being BF and it wasn't ever a problem. She had food instead
