I ordered a copy from Amazon months and months ago - get regular emails telling me that they are having probs but I should get it soon. Has anyone actually got a copy yet?

no, had the same, ordered it and the delivery kept going bck and back. So I cancelled it and got the older version out of the library. Would be interested to know what's updated.
I found it really really interesting.

not got a copy yet but i thought some of you would like to know that Gabrielle Palmer will be in the flesh at the ABM Conference in June.

Mine's been on order since before Christmas.

IlanaK · 09/03/2009 21:51

It is not quite published yet. And yes, she will be speaking at our (ABM) conference this summer about the issues she has added to the book. She apparantly has added sections that look at the economic and environmental issues around bf.

SamJamsmum · 10/03/2009 07:22

I thought it was going to be published ages ago. Every time I get a delay message from Amazon I think 'Conspiracy!!!' ;)

noolia · 10/03/2009 08:49

Glad it's not just me then! Thanks for the link Foxytocin - conference looks really interesting. Having looked at the website I'm thinking about joining - tell me more!

The ABM is great group of women. come along to the conference. We'd love to hook have you join up.

Devendra · 10/03/2009 15:09

Mines been on order from Amazon for months

noolia · 10/03/2009 20:53

Would it be odd to join the ABM just as I stop bfing dd!?

No it wouldn't. it is about supporting breastfeeding and you can do that without actively breastfeeding.

SamJamsmum · 11/03/2009 06:56

I think it's a good time to join. It's continuing a connection to the bf world and the legacy of your bf relationship is supporting bf for others. LOTS of members are not currently feeding or ever likely to again.

The Politics of Breastfeeding is now back from the printers and making its way to online stores like Amazon as well as Baby Milk Action, the NCT and La Leche League UK, or is available from the publishers (us) directly: www.pinterandmartin.com
There is also a Facebook page here: www.facebook.com/pages/The-Politics-of-Breastfeeding/48195053271

Hurrah, I have had a copy on order since June 08 at Amazon !!! Sounds like I should get it soon

pooter · 30/04/2009 17:14

foxytocin im a member of ABM, and really fancy going to the conference, but i have a 2yr old and i dont want to leave him for any great lenght of time - about 3hrs would be my max i think - but i cant find any details about who is speaking when. I know babes in arms would be ok, but my DS would be running around like a loon and dragging me out. any suggestions? On the other thread, did yoy mean that you CAT'd me? 'cos i dont have CAT but my email is archipooter at googlemail (ignore if you were talking to someone else

Babieseverywhere · 06/05/2009 16:37

Amazon have still not got a date for this book.

BCLass · 06/05/2009 20:28

Amazon don't - which is annoying because I have ordered a copy from them, but the Politics of Breastfeeding facebook page says the NCT and LLL now have it in stock.

I don't know whether to get it form them and cancel AMazon or what???

WasMyAuraWrongOrWhat · 06/05/2009 20:32

I have had this on order at local bookshop since forever. Whats going on? Does anyone know?

katie789 · 06/05/2009 21:32

Did someone have a contact for the publishers, Pinter & Martin, who wrote on this thread a couple of weeks ago? I've got it on order from Amazon too - I'd have thought they'd have loads of copies early on.
