Remind me how do I treat defrosted breastmilk and how much should I leave?

Meeting a friend tomorrow and leaving ds2 with DP. I will only be gone 2 hours and will try and feed ds2 before I go, but if he doesn't want to feed he won't. I have frozen milk so can leave a bottle which will make me feel better.

So do I take the milk out in the morning and leave it to defrost in the fridge all day and then dp can reheat it when needed? I can't remember what I did with ds1.

Also I was thinking of leaving 5oz. Ds2 is 12 weeks and 13lbs do you think that will be enough?

Amount sounds about right (my ds is 17 weeks and eats 120ml/4oz a feed, 2 hourly).

You can defrost slowly in the fridge and then keep 24 hrs, or defrost under a hot running tap and serve at once, discarding any leftovers.

www.kellymom.com/bf/pumping/milkstorage.html is really helpful on storage and www.kellymom.com/bf/pumping/milkcalc.html for quantities.

Enjoy the break

Thank you both. I think I will just sterilise a bottle and then DP can defrost the milk under hot water if necessary and that way we won't waste it if it's not needed.

I will enjoy the break. I feel a bit guilty, but it will give me some time to hopefully relax .
