Why has my 16 week old started fussing at night?

we are co-sleeping, exBF

Usually he will feed 11, 4ish and 7am and happily go to sleep straight afterwards.

For the last few nights he's been fussing while on the breast, sometimes pulling away with my nipple end clamped firmly between razor sharp gums (ow!) and snacking all through the night! He's discovered he can wriggle across the bed to me (we share a double with DH kicked into anohter room!!) and latch on while I'm asleep which is fine, but he's doing it all the time!

They have a big growth spurt and a huge developmental spurt at this age. If you search on here, you'll see loads of threads about sleep disruption at 4 months. I think there was even a support thread in the sleep section recently. Think you probably just have to ride it out. I love the thought of him wriggling across to you in the night!

agree with raspberry its a growth phase -about time start to notice EVERYTHING so you get messing about at feeds/waking up and wanting to play at ingiht - sounds like your ds likes to combine both!

it does stop though after a week or so.

Oh yes, he's been waking at 10pm full of giggles, gurgles and smiles! Thinks its playtime.

Right, its normal, there's nothing i can do, will ride it out

Def normal, i'm on the sleep support thread! DD has been doing exactly the same for WEEKS (started just before 4 months), she's just coming out the other end at 5.5 months and I think it's linked to her starting to concentrate more on her daytime feeds again, hence less need to catch up during the night. Believe me though, I feel your pain MamaG!
