13 month old doesn't want to BF anymore :-(

My 13 month old has been excl BF until 12 months when he started to have some cows milk too. By 12 months he had gone down to 2 Bfeeds a day and started sleeping through. He is fine on his solids - doesn't eat a huge variety but when he is in the mood he eats well. Over the last few weeks he started to refuse(wriggle, cry, physically push my breast away from his mouth) to BF at night so after a few nights I gave him cows milk and then gradually stopped offering BF. He was then down to one BF in the morning. The last two mornings he has pushed me away and refused to BF at all. Yesterday I offered at other times and he wouldn't have any.
I feel sad as I had wanted to keep going until he was 2 although I have always said I didn't want to stop until he was ready so I didn't have a stopping point in mind.
Is there anything else I can do or shall I just accept that this the end of him breastfeeding ?

Hi Saz, quick answer as I'm on my way out the door...

My DS did the same at 13mo, and I stopped after a week of trying. He got ill a fortnight later and wanted it again though and I was so sad not to be able to give it to him. So if I were you, I'd try and carry on a bit longer. Have you changed your diet at all? Might be making the milk taste different... You could try eating lots of fruit to make it nice and sweet?!?!?!?!? No ideas other than that, really.

Is he ill or teething at all? It might be worth expressing in the meantime in case he does change his mind as singalongamumum says.

thanks both - that's my fear that he will be sick and I won't be able to give it to him. I haven't really changed my diet. He is a little under the weather. I have always struggled to express but maybe I will give it a go again.
thanks
