clearblue fertility monitor does it work when you are breastfeeding?

on the blurb it says not really, but has anyone used it anyway and how was it?

Not sure about the fertility monitor but the digital ovulation kit worked first time for me despite breastfeding. I assume they work on the same principle.

What you need to know about these ovulation predictor thinggies is that they detect the surge in hormones which happens before you ovulate. It doesn't confirm that you have indeed ovulated.

So, when you are breastfeeding, all the bf hormones damp down (scientific term ) the other hormones and your body may be trying hard to ovulate, but doesn't actually manage if the hormones don't reach high enough levels.

In theory, you could get a positive but not actually have ovulated. But this could also happen if you are not breastfeeding.....
