Stopped BF nearly 2 weeks ago & boobs are sore & lumpy - what to do?

Hi,

DD2 is 8 months now and I've gradually reduced BF by a feed a day and last week cut out the morning feed altogether.

Despite massaging (not tried cabbage leaves though) I now have painful hard lumps in both boobs.

Do I persevere through this or is it best to express to relieve some of the build up?

I visited the doctor earlier this week as boobs were engorged and painful - was hoping they could give me some medication to dry up the milk but they seemed reluctant.

Thanks for any advice

I think this is quite normal though very painful. Try the Savoy cabbage, it is good, though you do smell a bit
Hot flannels also soothe when you are in the bath or shower. Paracetamol. I shouldn't think it'll last too much longer.
