Breastfeeding 4 month old... can I go away from babe for weekend and carry on?

This is my third and I have mostly not left them for more than one night. But best mate is in NY and would lvoe to visit her without baby for say 3 nights...

I'm thinking he could have a mixture of formula and expressed while I was away (he takes a bottle - I make sure he has one every few days to keep him in habit)

Then I could just express down the bathroom basin 3 or four times a day to keep my milk coming. A bit of a fag but I really don't want to give up as he will only be 5 months and usually do em for about a year.

Its do-able isn't it?

Flum, I left ds4 for 2 nights when he was 5 months old and exclusively bf. I was never much good at hand expressing so I vrouht my pump with me and expressed every few hours. I kept it though, couldn't bear to pour it down the sink!
He was fine and resumed bfing as soon as I walked in the door!

Mmmm don't fancy boarding a flight back from New York with a weekend case full of stale breastmilk though. Will bin it but will need to express anyway as will be engorged otherwise and uncomfortable.......

Flight prices looking good....
Got the ok from DH.......
Apparently is very expensive time re dollar to pound so won't be a massive shopping spree....

Well, do a little shopping anyway, Flum! Can't totally waste the opportunity!

Mmmm yes a little. I'm sure I will be too busy in bars having my ample bosom admired.

Take advantage! You may get one or two drinks bought for you!

Mmmm now it will be 4.5 days - oh my that is loads.

I am worried he will forget how to do it. I don't want this to be the end. I guess I should not go.

My mate is so excited though as I have basically said I will go.

Guess I coudl go for shorter time than the others. Come back a day early..... wonder if would make a difference.
