ARRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!!!

Yep, the whole message is breastfeeding could kill your new baby. So why could that be??? Because HCPs give CRAP advice in hospitals. Mums are not being encouraged to feed constantly, if that's what the baby wants.

So why could the headline not be, 'HCPs Giving Wrong Advice Are Undermining Breasfeeding and Causing Dehydration in Infants'

On top of the Hilary Jones fiasco, this headline is going to put a lot of women off BFing/encourage them to give up BFing early.

ffs what is wrong with the media in this country. 1st gmtv and now the BBC. it does say its a very rare condition but surely suggesting an improvement in breastfeeding services would be more constructive

lizzytee · 17/02/2009 14:38

Sadly this is not the first article I have seen with this spin - emphasising breastfeeding not poor support as the root cause. I'm a little surprised at the Beeb - normally this crops up in the Daily Mail with Clare Byam-Cook as resident "expert"

Still..."religious affiliation....." makes a change from militant/nazi

foxytocin · 17/02/2009 16:22

oh I have had a good ole rant about the 'professional' they wheeled out to quote in that article.

I am all ranted out over here.

yeah, 'religious affiliation' indeed. what is that now; breastfeeding is a cult?

lizzytee · 17/02/2009 17:04

Hey does that make us zealots?

foxytocin · 17/02/2009 17:23

Like a Biblical zealot?

lizzytee · 17/02/2009 17:33

It' just.....now I have, like, a reason to have wild straggly hair and crazed, staring eyes.....I thought it was just three years of sleep deprivation and pregnancy

SnowlightMcKenzie · 17/02/2009 18:28

Actually this has made me REALLY ANGRY

claireybeemine · 17/02/2009 18:32

Only sensible bit of that article is the quote from Dr Sam at the side.
