Want to go back on the combined Pill, but still BF 9mo DS2.....

Have read on Kellymom and FPA websites that combined pill is OK after 6mo but milk supply may drop. Anyone got any experience of this? DS2 just feeds morning and night now which I am very happy with, has 2 bottles of formula during day and ALOT of solids.
3 brands of mini-pill all made me anxious/depressed and hate condoms so would like to go back onto lovely, easy Marvelon as I was pre-DS1 over 3yrs ago. Plus since AF returned 2 months ago have had dreadful PMS which I've never had before and don't want again if poss.
I realise everyone's experiences are different but just wondered if this could be worth a go?

I'm told cerazette is possible in this situation (I'm in the same boat).

Have tried Cerazette but it's a mini-pill too (ie no oestrogen), exactly the same anxiety/depression side-effects as the others. Humph.

Bugger - have you considered a coil?

ZamMummy · 17/02/2009 17:35

Yes, but don't want to do Mirena as it's the same hormones as Cerazette etc and if anxiety comes back then will have to wait/hassle of having it removed.
Don't know much about the old-style coil, does it still give you really painful periods? In the bad old days pre-Marvelon (admittedly I was only 16-17) had such bad period pains that I had to stay in bed in darkened room for 2 days, even with Ponstan! Not fancying that again....

depends if you plan to have any more or not !

Ah now, there is a type of coil with no hormones - they offered it to me but I decided against it.
