Sleeping through - how long till my breasts catch up?!

My 17-week DS has just started sleeping through the night - yay! But my breasts haven't caught up yet and I'm waking up every morning with full and painful breasts, and covered in milk. It's been a week so far - how long before they realise they don't need to make as much milk at night any more?

Aww shucks Rhian. He'll probably hit the big 4 month growth spurt very soon and go back to feeding all night, and you'll wish that they hadn't caught up, but prob only 2 or 3 days I would think.

Don't say that! He's actually only slept through while we were visiting relatives for a week (three different houses in total, thought he'd be a nightmare but it was the opposite) so I'm desperately hoping he'll keep it up at home!

My 18 week old DS makes sure my boobs never know what they're doing by waking once a night for a week or so and then throwing in a few nights of 2 hourly waking. So, even if he sleeps really well, my bosoms wake me 2 hourly and just when everything has begun to adjust we go back to 2 hourly again. Argh. Still, as Can'tSleep points out we are bang in middle of grim 4/5mth growth spurt that I still remember vividly from feeding DD.
