How often is your LO feeding?

I'm not particularly concerned but DD is on her fifth bf of the day - which seems like quite a lot to me. It's been like this for at least 10 days now. She was ill, and we moved and she was teething - so I quite understand, butI wondered how 'average' an experience this was.

I'm asking now as there seem to be a few busy threads on ex bf around today!

my dd2 bf until she was 19 months, and she fad loads. I don't know what the average is, but five tmes a day isn't unusual.

fed not fad!

Well, it will probably be about 8 times by bedtime!

She's 13 months, BTW.

And I mean looooong feeds. As far as I can remember we've had at least two of 45 minutes today. Others of 20 minutes.

She had gone to a few minutes ech side.

Writing this, I realise I suppose I am actually worried she's lacking something. I do offer her water or milk in a cup regularly.

My DS is also 13 months and goes through phases. Sometimes he only feeds once or twice in a 24 hour period, but sometimes he feeds more than five times - usually following illness/teething like your DD. I would imagine it is just a phase and I'm sure she's not lacking anything, probably just wants the comfort after feeling ill and miserable

I don't think she is lacking anything hun, she is just going for the only thing that has never ever changed . My hunch is it will settle in another week or so xx

I guess you're right. She does keep unlatching and giving me really cheeky 'it's you and me, eh?' grins and nuzzling me.
