breastfeeding and anti-wrinkle creams

Hi there,

Before I got pregnant I was using an anti-wrinkle cream to try to stop time but then read that there's stuff in some of them that you can't use when you're pregnant.

Anybody know if the same applies when you're breastfeeding? I seem to need it more than ever now, even with the new fringed hairstyle

Also, if it's OK, are there any that are good and not too dear?

Thanks

I wouldn't worry! Some have a mild salycylic acid in them - that is in the same family as aspirin and there is a minute chance it may be absorbed and then an even more minute chance of it getting to the baby. I only know about this cos I was using bazuka throughout pregnancy and this is a much stronger salicylic acid and had a brief panic about it when I read about it but was reassured by a doc.
Just think how many women use moisturizer when pg...
And breastfeeding is another degree of separation so I would moisturise away :-)

Footnote: I also brazenly dyed my hair when pregnant, just to set my level of worry about these things

Anti wrinkle creams are ok to use when bf. I work in the industry and have bf for two years in total. Avoid retinol and anti cellulite products. If in any doubt ask the consultant who sells the cream to check with their HO.
