Im sure if you expressed at the times you normally feed your milk wont dry up.
Im sorry i have no advice about him self weaning in that time.

Imo i would not let my ds go but thats just me but you dont sound happy about him going.

My gut instinct is are you mad allowing your mil to separate you from your child in this way

if it was me I would not allow this to happen. It is not good for your ds is it? Not only is he going to be upset missing you, but there will be no bf to comfort him in a strange environment.
