my advice kee27 would be to hand express kust a little milk to relieve it slghtly just so you dont get too full carry on doing this and gradually they will go down good luck oh a nice warm bath can help as well

rubyslippers · 22/01/2009 13:33

cabbage leaves

Cabbage leaves in your bra.

Do you have any sage in your garden ? if so a couple of torn leaves in hot water as adrink is supposed to help.

At 2 days you are almost over the worst of it !

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 22/01/2009 13:36

the expressing will prolong things a bit, but not by much if you only express enough off to relieve the discomfort.

Ibuprofen will help as well if you are sore

tiktok · 22/01/2009 13:37

kee- would you consider putting the baby to the breast? Yes, this will stimulate breastmilk production, and if you know you deffo don't want to breastfeed this might lengthen the time you produce milk. But it would relieve the pressure!

kee27 · 22/01/2009 13:39

any feeding or expressing will pro long the prosess slightly but its alot less uncomfortable and its better for yor body if you breasts become too full it can sometimes lead to mastitus

Kee - I still don't understand why you have to stop completely now....how long are you in hosp. for and why does that mean you must stop totally? Sorry if I am missing some of the story!

kee - totally understand if this is your choice to stop but of course you will continue to make milk, whatever diet you are on, liquid or not and to your surgeon who does not know about bf and making milk. And the milk will be fine!

Good luck with the op.
