dd nearly 6wks, boobs not feeling like they did is the odd bottle causing it?

dd2 will be 6 weeks on sun. Since she was born I have bf all feeds bar usually one in the day when she has a bottle of formula. Reasons for this being that I only managed to bf for about 4wks with dd1 as I got totally fed up with it, therefore this time as I wanted to try and bf for longer I decided to mix feed to take some of the (what I feel is) pressure off.

Up until yesterday my boobs have always felt pretty full and leaked a lot when dd2 goes more than about 2hrs without a feed. Since yesterday they just seem a bit empty, dd2 seems to be feeding fine from me still and weirdly her latch seems better today than it ever has but I'm worried as yesterday she had two bottles as I had to leave her(not a regular thing.)

Would this effect my milk? Also, since Monday I've been trying to cut down what I'm eating as I really want to start shifting a few pounds, nothing major just cutting down to 3 sensible meals, cutting out the snacks. This wouldn't effect my milk would it?

Im not particularly wanting to bf forever but would like to continue for a bit longer if I can so don't really want my milk to dry up completely. Sorry about the essay. TIA for any suggestions.

Supply tends to settle so even if your breasts don't feel full, there is always milk there.I leaked one drop once in 3 1/2 years of breastfeeding and they never felt or looked 'full; after the first few weeks.

Your eating habits won't affect the supply, neither will the occasional bottle but if you want to carry on b/feeding, don't give too much formula or maybe express instead.

What moondog said. It's just your supply settling down and bfing becoming established.
