12 month old DS - is he dropping the night feed/self weaning ?

My DS has always been BF. He was on solids from 6 months ish and generally eats well. He has just started to sleep from 7 ish to 7 ish in the last few weeks. I feed him in the morning and sometimes once in the day and before he goes to sleep. He has sort of found his own routine over time. He has started reducing his before sleep feed and mostly latches on for a few minutes and then pushes me away. I have no fixed views about when I will stop feeding and was really hoping to be guided by what he wanted to do. Does this lessening in before bed feeding sound like he wants to drop the night feed ? I am wondering whether I should stop offering this feed and give him a cup of cows milk instead ? or shall I persevere with offering BM ?

Sounds like self weaning to me. My DS did similar at about 13mo, and after a while (week or so) just said no when I offered it. I couldn't believe it! He asked for it again about a month later when he was ill and I felt sad I had nothing to offer him. I'd say don't rush it, but yep it sounds like he's ready to drop it.

Sounds like self-weaning to me - I'd adopt the stance of "don't offer, don't refuse" - worked well for me and DS. I'd start offering cow's milk as a drink, too.
