DS is 13 weeks and we have been waking him for a very sleepy expressed feed around 10/11pm last night we let him sleep and he slept til 6am having gone down at 7pm. I expressed 10 mins each side just to ease things before going to bed. If I stop expressing at this time of night will my supply get low or will it be fine for his other feeds during the day?? HELP!!

Hello. Firstly, very jealous that your 13wk old went thru til 6am when my 7 month old DS now wakes any time between 1 and 5am and take ages to settle. grrrrr!

I'm not an expert, but when I started dropping feeds, my milk stayed at the times that DS kept feeding and gradually went at the times when he stopped feeding. So if you stop expressing in the evening your milk should be fine for the rest of the day. You should probably gradually reduce the amount you express though, as you could get a bit of pain in the night!

Hope your DS keeps sleeping well

Thanks Lovelymama for your advice. I guess I have sleepy babies that's my bonus for terrible births!!! my DD had pretty much the same sleep pattern although we always woke her at 10pm for her feed until she weaned.

I will try him again tonight and see if he makes it through again. Will try not expressing and see what happens can always express in the night if I wake up or feed him if he wakes up!!
