I was rubbish at breastfeeding with both my dcs and was (and still am) very upset about it, but not place to get into that now. But the other day, a friend was bf'ing her baby at our house and 5yo DD came running in and said to me how funny it was and "come and look at some boobies!!!" [hmmm] and was all giggly and saying how funny it was. I was mortified that something so natural should be so funny to her. I didn't bf her brother long enough for her to remember, I guess. So have I made her think that bf'ing is weird because I didn't do it?! (like I need more issues with this!!) I always present bf'ing as the norm and explain that I had a problem with it but that's what you should do if you can etc. etc. so I really can't understand why she would react like this and I felt horrible and failure-ish about it. Or is it just the whole 'body parts are funny if you're 5' thing? (she does think it's funny if she sees us in the shower, or sees her brother having nappy changed etc.) Can I assume it's the latter and let the bf thing go, do you think?!
