13 month old DD has always been bf, exclusively until she started food at 6 months, and it's always been pretty easy after a bit of pain in the first few days. Anyway in the last week it has really started to hurt! I've checked my nipples and no sign of thrush (well no white spots) and she hasnt been biting, and there are no signs of trauma on the nipples. Could she be latching wrong suddenly now that she is bigger? And if so does anyone have any suggestions as tohow to improve the latch? Thanks for any suggestions!

Hormonal changes ie. ovulation can lead to bfing becoming painful.

I've had my period back since April.... can that suddenly set in now, do you think?

Could you be pregnant again? That would make you sore.

Don't think so for various reasons. But I am wondering if hormones is the right answer as I've been cyclically all over the place recently... I'm seeing a doc later this morning (not related to this) but don't think will bother asking her, as she told me there wasn't any point bf after 6 months last time I saw her... so can guess what her solution to the problem would be...!

Thanks Belgo though - I think given my cycle has gone mad you could be right about hormones.
