You can just switch over to cows milk at 12 months, no need for formula after that

littleboyblue · 23/12/2008 20:13

You can switch to cows milk at 12 months. Full fat and semi skimmed at 24 months.

nickytinseltimes · 23/12/2008 20:14

1 year.
You can continue if you want or are advised to by doc or HV.
I started giving ds little bits about 11 mths and built it up from there to let him get used tothe taste and check it didn't upset his tummy.

Oh,, the joy of not having to make up formaul any more!

Oh yes it should be full milk.

Interestingly here in Holland they recommend semi from 12 months, but we're a full milk household anyway, milk comes with that composition for a reason IMO.

littleboyblue · 23/12/2008 20:17

You can still put it in a bottle. I got ds off bottle at 16months, he has a training avent cup now.

NorktasticNinja · 23/12/2008 20:17

Ooops X!

chloemegjess · 23/12/2008 20:19

Just give it how you did before - just use full fat cows milk (the blue lid) instead of formula.

A beaker is best at 12 months, but a bottle will be fine if he still wants it.

ahhhhh right, fantastic, cheers for your help. thank god not much more formula, YAY!
