Dh has just said that he has booked us a night in a posh hotel next monday (first night away from dd who will be 15 weeks). Have been very proud of myself as although this is my third breastfed baby she is the first to have been exclusively breastfed this far. Only problem now is she is clearly growing and so I am having trouble expressing and it is unlikely that I will manage to express enough to last her overnight. Am gutted to the point of not being sure I want to go which I know is a bit ridiculous. If I leave her with some formula do I need to try her on it before hand? And can anyone make me feel better?!!

I have never heard of a baby refusing formula if the are hungry - I mix-fed both of mine for first few weeks and they were fine. Don't have experience of older baby though - sorry!

I looked after my niece when she was 4 months-she point blank refused formula/bottle/expressed milk!(Overnight till lunchtime!) It was hell and I was a very experienced nanny/nursery nurse.(My niece was -and is now age 6 very stubborn!)

If she is used to bottles of EBM though it will probably be ok.I would try it out first though.( and well done on the breastfeeding). Good luck.
