OTC medicines and breastfeeding - do I need to pump and dump?

I have had a cold for nearly 2 weeks but as am still bfing DS (nearly 9 ms) morning noon and night haven't really been taking anything other than paracetamol.

BUT this morning I felt so horrific and had a temperature that I took my old pre-pg standby Solpadeine Plus (Paracetamol, caffeine and codeine, I think)

It reduced the fever (temp back to normal now and I'm not so shivery) and I feel a bit better now.

I have formula for DS for this evening and he actually went off for his afternoon sleep without any milk at all.

Do I need to pump and dump? WHat's best plan?

TIA

Check out the breastfeeding network drug info section. It's great for advice on what's compatible with bf and what's not.

This is the one you want www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/pdfs/Analgesics-(painkillers)-and-breastfeeding.pdf and the small amount of codeine in Solpadeine seems ok.
