I want to feed my LO the very occasional bottle of expressed breast milk

She is only 8 days old at the moment and feeding well at the breast already. My milk came through quite quickly and i have already managed to express a bit.
my DH has used this to give her an oz or so of EBM so that i could catch up on sleep on a couple of mornings after difficult nights. Apart from this she is exclusively on the boob.
i can see benefits (sleep/bomnding with dad/unstressed parents) in continuing with using some occasional EBM but some advice seems to be to wait for 4-6 weeks before using a bottle at all.

I would hope that the odd fl oz from a bottle is going to cause nipple confusion and I dont see any sign that my LO is not still taking my boob perfectly happily but mixed feeding at this early stage does seem to have mixed reviews, as it were, so i would appreciate any thoughts/comments/advice.
ta.

apols if this has been done to death. i did asearch but cld not find exactly what i was lookingfor.

hiya
even a single bottle at this stage CAN affect your supply, unless you are expressing while she has the feed.

her job is to feed a lot, to stimulate milk production. if that is not happening then your body doesn't know it needs that milk, and won't produce it.

like you say, the odd one here or there probably won't matter that much. but I woudl advise against making it a regular thing this early on

I would wait until about 6 weeks.
