Want to start TTC but still no period

I am still BF DS who is now 13 months and am happy to continue. DH and I would like to start ttc again but I still don't have my period. I am not sure if this is because I am bf or not. I have had some issues with an eating disorder and until recently was underweight. I am now just back in the healthy weight range and am continuing to work with a dietician to sort myself out.

Before I was pregnant with DS I was at the weight I am now and was having a period so I just don't know if my body wants me to put on more weight or if it is because I am still bf that my period has not returned yet.

Did other people not have their period after 13 months? Just wondering how common that is.

How many times a day does your DS feed? Does he still feed at night?

As far as I know there are no hard and fast rules about periods returning. It seems to vary from woman to woman. For me they returned at 12 months when I was bf 4x a day (but not at night).

I'm also about to start TTC and my periods returned recently. No idea if that makes me fertile though! Good luck.

It varies. He feeds two to three times a day and usually once at around five am. There have been times when it has been more if he has been teething or unwell.

Is it worse if he feeds in the night then? I wish I knew what my body was up to!

Hey Stefka, how are you?

I'm in the same boat, dd's almost 17 months and still nada. She feeds a lot through the day, and the night still though. Probably half a dozen times a day, and the same through the night too...sigh.

Mine returned like many women I know when my DD stopped feeding at night, although its not the case for all women. However, I could conceive but had 2 very early miscarriages in a row so I cut down BFs (DD was 18 months at the time) and I did successfully conceive the following month. DD self weaned at 23 months probably the milk changed and we were down to one feed before bedtime.

It depends on how crucial it is for you to ttc, I am in my late 30s and couldn't leave it any longer.
