Help, I am having an awful few days. On wed night my dd woke up with vomiting, all night, uninterested in breastmilk. next day hardly took anything (ended up in hospital due to dehydration) fri my ds (20 months) developed D&V too. DD (15 weeks) appetite did not improve but kept putting her to the breast. Expressed to relieve, but following this I developed D&V for the night, still managed to feed when she woke, but I didn't keep anything down for 12 hours. Saturday fed on demand and seemed to be ok. By today my boobs felt empty and not much swallowing going on from dd. Feeds lasting 1hr or longer and still not leaving her satisfied. Have just put her to bed and just couldn't satisfy her. Can I do anything? Feeling really fed up as fed my ds to 1 year, but he is not well either and not sure how long I can persevere. Need some sleep! sorry about the long post.

Jools, you're having a rotten time

Sometimes if a mum is very poorly with D&V, she'll feel her supply is down, but this is temporary only.

I am not sure this is what has happened with you, even so. Either way, keeping your dd close and letting her have as much access to the breast as she seems to need is the way to go. Breastmilk supply is not a fragile thing after 15 weeks. Hang on in there

Really sorry to hear how you are feeling, its awful when this happens. Are you feeling better and keeping food/water down now? You must keep drinking.
Your milk supply will get better, could you spend some time in bed with dd on your breast so you get some rest and she gets some food.
Hope you all get better soon, and dont beat yourself up about dd not seeming satisfied, if shes hungry she will feed again soon and get a bit more.

I just came down with a D&V bug. I also got the impression that my supply disappeared and that this was the end of BF. But: after a few days we both recovered and now at two weeks later, BF still going strong. I hope it will be the same for you.
