Hi

My 10mth old DD is FF and has been diagnosed by the hospital as having a dairy intolerance.

She was then prescribed wysoy which she has been on for 2weeks or so.

She seemed ok on it but 3 days ago I fed her a soya yogurt and she started screaming/straining

Now she seems to not tolerate her soya milk anymore and SCREAMS, bless her

This evening it was so bad that I had to help her do a poo (sorry TMI) with tissue etc.The straining has got so bad that she now has baby piles

Hospital say the earliest I can be seen again (is Jan (and this was with me almost sobbing down phone)

Have got appt with GP on wed (again earliest I can be seen)

What do I do till Wednesday? Keep giving her soya milk? (TBH I don't think this is an option)

Go back to "normal" FF which is is intolerant to but nowhere near as bad as this

Or is there any other ideas?

(Have also posted in Allergies)

ooooo poor baby. my heart goes out to you really.

Um All I can suggest really is water to help soften poos.

is she on food yet? maybe try something
with plenty fiber to also soften her up.
Maybe baby tummy massage to get things moving and soft.
maybe stay away from dairy food other then just the formula or even add a bit more water to it so it makes it not AS hard to poo it out. i know there is a ratio of formula to water but really how much can it hurt her if there is more water...I think that the only bad thign could be that shes maybe a bit more hungry sooner

Our DD had a fisher (tear) on her bum from pushing so hard, kind of like what some mums get after labour from pushing too and doctor gave us Instilla gel. which comes in a syringe looking tube and you put it on babys bum when she is going to poo and it helps numb it a bit. I hope it gets better soon.
good luck

Psychobabble - She has a great diet and LOVES fruit and eats loads of blueberries/satsumas etc.She used to have weetabix for breakfast but thought that bunged her up too so she now has baby porridge. With soy milk.

Either lunch or tea will be finger foods:rice cakes, bread sticks, fruit, broccoli, carrots etc

The other meal will be spoon fed ie shepherds pie, fish pie, pasta and veg etc

She does drink some water from a sippy cup.Might try the fruit juice again. She does have prunes.

Livysmum - Might ask GP about Instilla gel. She has 3 anal fissures on bum from straining which are not healing
