Am full of cold and really struggling. If I was to take a decongestant after DD goes to bed at 7.30 and then not feed her till after midnight (at the mo she is sleeping till middle of night at least anyway, but this isn't guaranteed obviosuly) would this be ok, i.e. would it have gone through my system by then, or should I just avoid completely?

The trouble with decongestants is the risk that they may dry up more than just your nose.

Kellymom look about 2/3 of the way down the page, at Decongestants.

What about steaming your head several times today, and taking an antihistamine this evening?

oh that's a bit worrying. Good idea about the steaming. Will give that a go!

Yes steaming works well - get some Olbas oil or Briars balsam. You will stink though

According to the BFN it is safer to use nasal decongestant sprays and steam. Try Vicks/Olbas oil in the steam. Also do this sinus massage whenever you need to. I had a bad cold and sinusitis recently whilst bfing DD and found these helped a lot. Hope you feel better soon
