Getting pregnant after giving up extended breastfeeding??

Hi all... I suppose this is mainly directed to those of you who have exclusively BF for extended times..

I have just very reluctantly weaned 15 mth old 3rd DC from BF as haven't yet had AF return even once since birth!! I have found that my cycle has returned later with each subsequent child when BF (6mths after #1, 10mths after #2 and now nothing at 15 mths after #3) Has anyone else found this?

Weaned 2 weeks ago as really would like to try for #4 (eek!) and would like a smallish gap. Feel frustrated as managed to conceive both #2 and #3 whilst still BF and then weaned while pregnant but hasnt been possible this time.

My main question is how long after completely weaning from BF can I expect my cycle to return? I am an experienced TTC er and have been getting almost positive OPK's on and off over last 2 months or so (when feeding x2 a day) but never actually get a BBT rise so not yet managed to ovulate..

any experiences gratefully received

My periods always returned within a moneth of giving up bf...but I suppose it is such an individual thing....

My af returned 6 weeks after last bf - DS1 fed for 7 mths, DS2 for 19 mths.
