Breastfeeding an audience for an art show

I read an aricle in Londonlite yesterday - apparently as part of an upcoming art show a woman will be breastfeeding any member of the audience who wants to have a go. Im only posting this as I though it was bizarre and am a little shocked.

That does sound a bit odd. And it will just add fuel to the fire for those who think that breastfeeders are weird.

exactly what i thought, the guy who was organising it someone famous called frost said this year would no be controversial, when questioned about the breastfeeding bit he was cornered and didnt have much to say.

err... I agree, this is going to do no good for women breastfeeding (especially - I suspect - extended breastfeeders).

I am sure there is a whole porn sub-section based on this... [eww]

breastfeeding in the same show as sex and drugs and public masturbation.

To be honest having read the review and had a look at the girl's myspace site I'm not overly concerned about the performance and its impact on breastfeeding mothers.

It's performance art, subverting a norm to induce a reaction. There's far more controversial stuff in there than "adult nursing" and I'm quite sure no-one will think she's representative of women who breastfeed in general.

Anyway, how are these people gonna get the milk? Normal nuring technique is lost by around 8 and the alternatives can cause nipple trauma.

I know this from experience by the way!
