Is it too late to get 3 month old to relactate?

This is my first baby and I gave my littleun a bottle the first night out of hospital (it was the only thing that stopped him after a whole night of screaming). I sought advice from friends who told me to take all kinds of pills and potions (i.e. the motilium and lactogogue teas etc) but none told me to keep him latched on as often as possible something that might have been obvious to a breastfeeding mother but was not to me(my mother never breastfed).

So between bottles and some breastfeeding milk supply dwindled and he got more frustrated at the breast (loves his botty ) I stopped latching him on.

Only after recent access to internet have I seen what I've done.

Not to make this too lengthy the short is he won't latch on anymore and he does not do too well on the formula I'm giving him he's constipated quite a bit (can't afford the other formula he was on). I've tried using a supplemental nursing system to coax him back to the breast but its too much of a figgle foggle to use. Would I be able to get my milk supply up with a pump and how do I get him to latch on again or is it too late?

You will no doubt get some good advice on here, but I would suggest that you also need to have somebody talk to you face to face. Can you say whereabouts in the country you are - different organisations are stronger than others in certain areas.

Lots of contact numbers for the various bfing organisations on this thread.

You can do this, but it will be hard. Best wishes

I stay in South Africa. I assume this is a site in the UK?
