What was your first period like whilst or after stopping breastfeeding? I'm confused......

I have had 3 days of dark brown spotting. Sat-Mon
Thought this may be my period coming back.
We are TTC so confused as it may be implantation bleeding.

Taken two HPT Thursday and Friday both BFN.

I thought that the first period was normally really heavy and lasted longer than normal cycle. So any experiences may help me to work out what is going on.

Ds is 11 months and is still bf arround 5 times a day.

My first period was when my son was about 3 months old and I was still EBF about 10-12 times a day. It was a fairly normal period, although there was more dark blood to begin with than normal I suppose and it lasted about a week.

I was wondering if anyone had spotting one month followed by a full period the next maybe?

My 1st period was really light. My 2nd was really heavy. The 3rd was 10 days late (confusing as we're not actively preventing TTC) but otherwise normal and the 4th was on time and as expected. The first one was when DD was about 15 mths old and still feeding 3-8 times/day.

I think its a case of "anything goes" - which doesn't help when you're TTC as well. Fingers crossed for you

Quite heavy, started again after 3 months. I always noticed a gush of blood just after feeding (presumably uterus contracting). Quite irregular for the whole time i've been feeding but still managed to get pregnant (26 weeks!). I hope it stays away longer this time.

My first period was when DS was about 9mo, still bf'ing and was a couple of days of spotting, barely noticed it. My second one was a few weeks later, I forgot to note the exact timing of the first one so not sure if it was back "on cycle" or not , and lasted a couple of days but wasn't that heavy either. Haven't had the next one yet...
Defo wasn't pg either, would have been a miracle!!

Oh that that helps thankyou ladies so the spotting could have just been body trying to get back to normal menstral cycle.

I think i was just expecting it to be really heavy and unpleasant not just a little dark spotting with no real cramps. I normally have really unpleasant menstral cramping.

This is driving me insane.

At least if its a period then TTC may be more successful.

Oh congratulations ICBI you give me hope that i will get a BFP whist still bf.

Well hopefully i'll get the real deal soon or a BFP happy either way i just want to know where i stand!

LMB - I'm still trying to work out whether I'm ovulating or not. Have you had a read of the information on Fertility Friend? I used temping when TTC DD, but her sleep pattern is too irregular for it to be of much use now - so I'm using other indicators. I am at least seeing a pattern so I've got an idea that things maybe going on and, if they are, when.

I had a bleed a week ish ago ( @ 8 weeks) that was bright red and then darker spotting for a day. I am assuming it was a period, if that helps any This is whilst BFing.

Thank you Tangle! I will have a good look at that site. Ds was a happy accident and now we would like another dc it just isn't happening.
