I'm not sure how to post on that site and i'm not yet a guru but can be helpful!

Suggest she comes on here and starts a thread

I don't want to have to register on there, but the first thing I would say is that it's fine if she wants to introduce a bottle, but she should wait for her supply to be well established before doing this; this usually takes 6 to eight weeks.

she should also be feeding on demand (which it sounds like she is). The engorgement she is feeling is, I would say, her milk coming in as the timing is right. It's definately far too early to think about introducing a bottle of formula at this stage as it will mean the inevitable end of breastfeeding sooner than it sounds like she is ready to.

the best advice is to feed feed feed and then feed some more, and to take her lead from the baby, with as much skin to skin as possible. you could also point her in the direction of kellymom

the weight loss at nearly 10% is around what is deemed acceptable and provided she keeps feeding on demand now her milk has come in the baby should start putting on weight from here on in. The expectation is to regain their birthweight by around two weeks after birth, so it isn't necessarily anything to worry about at the minute. I'm sure it's only a problem if the weight loss continues or if they haven't regained their birth weight.

thanks everyone.

If anyone else fancies echoing LittleMiss Bliss's sentiments I think it would give weight to it.
I have sent her a private message suggesting she comes on here.
