Are any herbal sleep aids compatible with breastfeeding?

Does anyone know of something I could take?

DD2 is just over 6m if that makes any difference. My sleep problems are PND related and I'm seeing my GP. For now I'm keen to try to tackle the sleep issue and see if that helps overall. She said ask the pharmacist about Nytol but it looks like it's not recommended (netdoctor).

Thanks

I have just seen a homeopath...and she gave me a remedy to help me sleep, it's amazing...it works. I find it all hard to believe, but just know it works, so that might be an idea, but you would need to visit someone. It's totally safe for breastfeeding. I have also tried stronger things, but honestly this remedy is amazing.

If your probs are related to PND, are you on ads? If so, make sure there are no interactions there either.
There are ads suitable for use during bf, btw.

Rescue remedy Sleep (ie not the regular one) is supposed to be very good, and probably fine during BF.

A couple of drops of pure lavender on your pillow at night can really help, I use lavender most nights.

If you are taking anti-depressents you will be unable to take most herbal remedies for stress/depression/sleeping.

thanks everyone. Not on anti-d's though it will come to that if things don't improve! Lavender makes me sneeze so that's out but thanks for the idea.

tried rescue remedy last night, think it helped. Dd2 finally slept through the night too, so big improvement on 1 week ago ( up every 1.5-2hrs!)

ThAnks for the recommendation

great news racers, good luck for a repeat performance tonight!

we had a performance alright. Not a repeat one though! Still, I think the drops have helped a little.
