Can't seem to express now I'm pregnant. DD needs milk for nursery...

DD is at nursery one day a week and I just don't seem able to express anymore.

I always used to send her with two 5oz bottles but I've just defrosted the last 5oz I had left in the freezer and so she's going to need something to have instead. Starting from tomorrow

Can she have cows milk or should it be formula?

She's nearly 11 months by the way.

DS was 11 months when I went back to work and didn't have any milk on the days I wasn't with him, I never pumped.

If you want DD to have milk I'd prob go for just cows milk as she is nearly a year, but I know this isn't the official recommendation.

Can you express with her on the other boob?? I can't express unless ds is feeding at the same time. But he is only 21 weeks!

TBH for some reason I'd rather she had cows then formula, but I'm not sure what would actually be best.

I think in the context of the rest of her diet - i.e. this is one day a week at nursery, a little cows milk before the appointed 'deadline' of 12 months is not that terrible.

Or no milk at all and ask nursery to offer more snacks, yogurt etc in place of her milk feeds? Just my opinion...

DS dropped his daytime milk feeds at about 10mo - I was working 4 days by then

If it's one day, and she's nearly a year, I wouldn't worry about formula, just make sure the staff offer plenty of fluids

In the context that she is still being breast fed the rest of the week and that she has probably started eating milk based products (cheese, yoghurt?) I don't think giving her cow's milk to drink during the day for one day a week would do her any harm. I also agree that just giving her water to drink and cheese/yoghurt to eat would be an option.

She has indeed been having cows milk in porridge / on cereal and eating yogurt and milk for a while. Theoretically I'd be happy with her just having water and eating more dairy at nursery, but they offer a pretty limited diet IMO. I'd worry she wasn't getting her calories.

I'll send her with the last bottle of EBM and some cows milk tomorrow and see how it goes. She did once have a little bit from bottle with some curry, she was very impressed! Lets hope she still likes it without the curry
