DS about to become 1 - what to do re milk

DS is on 3 bottles of formula a day now, which he loves and is taking about 22 ounces all in all.
When he gets to 1, any thoughts on whether I replace some of this with a snack and/or cows milk and/or both?
He does enjoy his milk a lot, so I'm tempted to give him some cows milk, rather than cut out his mid afternoon milk totally.
However, I have avoided dairy (formula excluded) in last couple of weeks, because of a tummy bug and his eczema has cleared up a treat. Which then makes me think should I only give minimal milk ...
Any thoughts/experiences very welcome, thank you for reading.

by 1 year both my dd and ds had only 2 milk feeds and had had no daytime milk since 10 1/2 to 11 months. I replaced the daytime milk feeds with a snack and drink of water.

thanks seona. yeah, i guess that is the way to go, but my ds loves his afternoon milk, that i wonder if a beaker of cows milk and a snack might be ok for a couple of months. might provide more of a transition maybe?
thanks for responding.

I first introduced a lidded cup of milk to ds from about 9 months and did it by offering his mid-morning feed from the cup along with a snack in his highchair. It could be worth doing that with your lo's mid-afternoon feed and that way you kill 2 birds with one stone i.e. introduce cows milk and a cup for milk. Once your lo is used to taking milk from the cup at that feed you could look to replace the other bottles with the cup too.
