Is that ment to happen so soon?

What does it mean about my feeding now?

Have I done something wrong?

what is a star week?

Geepers · 19/09/2008 18:17

She means period.

What is wrong with using the word period?

belgo · 19/09/2008 18:19

Never heard the expression star week.

It just means that breastfeeding is no contraceptive!

lulumama · 19/09/2008 18:20

wow, i had never heard that phrase before.

you have done nothing wrong, just a bit unlucky ! Back to full on contraception

TheProvincialLady · 19/09/2008 18:22

Are you absolutely certain it is your period? Bleeding can stop and restart, especially if you have been doing a bit more lately.

belgo · 19/09/2008 18:22

I get it now, you mean you star the week in your diary?

NorbertDentressangle · 19/09/2008 18:24

I had to click on the thread to see what "star week" was.

No of course you haven't done anything wrong! Just one of those things.

Personally I've never presumed that BFing was a good enough contraceptive anyway -never wanted to risk it!

belgo · 19/09/2008 18:24

Better then the acronym AF anyway

misdee · 19/09/2008 18:30

star qweek is used for slimming world so i knew what it was. lol

shubiedoo · 19/09/2008 18:32

I thought Star Week was a magazine, like Hello!

CaptainFlameSparrowWifeOfJack · 19/09/2008 18:33

I like star week Like a twinklier version of "moon"

TheProvincialLady · 19/09/2008 18:44

Mine's more of a Black Hole week TBH

YeSaltySlurDog · 19/09/2008 18:53

Mars week better perhaps? God of both war and chocolate, fits rather well.

You're just unfortunate Div, but I agree could still be post preg stuff rather than proper period.

Divvy · 19/09/2008 19:47

I didnt want to put period in the title, not sure why though bashful maybe?

Its from my slimming club days, and there are alot more terms I could have put, if my brain was in full working order, which its not right now

Ok so period re-starting is nothing to worry about then, in bf terms....good good

As for the contraceptive side not working now...not even done the deed...yet! Got the mini-pill sitting here waiting to be taken, but wasnt sure if it affected milk supply, so not taking it untill we erm...resume full service!

Divvy · 19/09/2008 19:48

Oh, its a real period also, as been having pains for a few days, now I know why!

Cryptoprocta · 19/09/2008 21:53

Have you expressed any feeds?

Divvy · 20/09/2008 08:23

Only twice, and that was a few weeks ago now. Think its cos he is not feeding during the night. Thats been going on now for week and half, so bet thats the reason. bang goes my months free from star weeks!

OP posts:
BEAUTlFUL · 20/09/2008 08:32

If you're feeding, shouldn't it be a ...

wait for it...

Drumroll please...

Milky Way week?

BEAUTlFUL · 20/09/2008 08:32

sorry, that was awful

Divvy · 20/09/2008 08:34

lol, well that better than a jammy dodger week!

OP posts:
Cryptoprocta · 20/09/2008 14:34

Yeah, apparently just one "dropped" feed can do this, which is why it isn't a reliable contraceptive. I can't remember whether it's a drop in the hormones that stop ovulation, or a rise in the ones that do. But missing a feed can start that process, if you're unlucky, which you are I'm afraid.

My personal favourite euphemism is "Up on blocks"

SoupDragon · 20/09/2008 14:37

Mine started again at about 8 weeks and I didn't miss any feeds. Sometimes it just happens.
