Help! Spot on my nipple - what is this?

I've got a spot on my nipple! I've been bfing for almost 3 months. This morning I noticed a raised red spot on the aureola (sp?). It looks like a pimple (has a small white head, but is painful.

Is it just a spot? I'm assuming it's not a gp visit thing? Will it just go?

I got this when pg and just ignored it. It eventually went once I finished bf. Used to pick it because it had a head but just ended up making it bleed. Mine wasn't painful tho. Maybe ask hv

Oh, ok. I'm tempted to squeeze it but it's too painful. Mind you, it's brand new!
I panicked this morning, but now I'm wondering about those things on the aureola that are sort of lubrication producing, maybe one is blocked.

Er, not technical at all! Don't you miss Kellymom!!

Sounds like a milk blister to me.

Yes, charchargabor, that's it - thanks!

Hello Essie! I think I've got one of these too and have had for a while....It's not a spot so much as a raised bump that will produce milk if squeezed. DH freaks out that somewhere other than my nipples will produce milk.

I had a milk blister and it was extremely painful. It was a toss-up which was the most painful, the bloody milk-blister or the damned mastitis!

I gritted my teeth and fed through it until it resolved, but that was partly because my GP knows fuck all about bf and there was no way I was letting him lance it!

Ooops, sorry for the zombie thread, I only just noticed the dates! Hopefully OP's nipple blister has resolved by now!
