Breast-feeding: when did your periods return?

I am still breast feeding DS who is now nearly 7 months old. I usually feed about 2-4 times in the day and usually a couple of times in the night. Other than that, DS now has solids for all other meals and eats a lot, so I only really BF for comfort / snacks now. Yet I still haven't had a period and wondered what other people's experiences were. It seems that all the BF mum's I have spoken to all got their periods months ago! I'm wondering what has happened to mine (definitely not pg!)

I breastfed till 16mo, but I dropped the lunch time BF at 8mths and my periods came back at 10mo.

Exclusively BF'd tilll just over 6 months when I added solids. BF'ing still going strong (X3 per day) at 14 months. Periods returned on DS's 8 month birthday and I conceived again 2 days before his 1st birthday. You could have knocked me down with a feather as cycle was between 30-45 days???

Mine came back very early. Nothing to do with frequency of feeds in my case.

still b/f my 1 year old ds.
perod came back at about 7 months. (I had stopeed night feeding for about 3 months then and was down to about 4 feeds a day)

Fell pg on third post pregnancy cycle. Babay due when ds will be 18 months!

mine came back after 7 months, we had just dropped an afternoon feed and ds was sleeping through the night. Haven't had one since then though and that was 2 months ago.

6 weeks after the birth both times and I fed ds1 for 16 months and am still going with ds2 at 17 months

Mine never did! I gave up b/f at the end of Nov and presumably started ovulating again then, as I got pg at the beginning of Dec without having had a period! I won't know what's hit me when I finally give up b/f no. 2!!

Mine started again almost exactly a month after I completely stopped breast feeding DS, so they started again when he was 10 months old. I've managed to have four and now I'm pregnant again .

DS1 - 12 mths; DS2 still b/feeding up to 4 times a day (even 5) and not back yet at 14 mths . Absolutely DREAD their return.

Have just stopped breastfeeding DS3 and period started 2 days after stopping Has anyone else had this happen this soon after stopping?

Hi,
My ds is 19 months old and still b`feeding bedtime, morning and sometimes occassional feed before naptime.Got my period back this month-yuk, however had the mirena coil fitted when ds was 6 weeks old and never expected to get any periods !
Any similar experience ?

I am sorry to butt in, just like to join you all
dd still b/f (day and night) and she is 1 year old.perionds resumed few months ago, but cycles v v erratic. dont know if i ov, or if i ov when i do.i can do with sharing advice and experience and support.would be glad to join yous

When I went back to work both with DS1 and ds2 although I expressed milk during the day with both. Ds2 was fully breastfed for 1 yr .i.e got no formula
