Do you sweat a lot in bed in the early weeks of breastfeeding?

I remember this from DS1. I am soooooo sweaty at night. It is really gross. DD1 is now three weeks old.

Does anyone else get this and when does it end - I can't remember.

Yes I did and no I can't remember either! Sorry to be useless Congratulations on the baby

BellaBear · 12/08/2008 12:12

I had it for weeks and weeks

FrannyandZooey · 12/08/2008 12:12

yes disgusting isn't it
I can't remember when it stops! soon I hope (ds2 3 weeks old)

LackaDAISYcal · 12/08/2008 12:18

I had this with DD more than with DS, and it went on for aaaaaaages. I think it only stopped after after I'd started weaning her onto solids iirc but it does get better slowly over the coming months.

Congratulations

Aghh, yes. Mine went on for AGES with dd (second). It's foul.

Yup, duvet soaked in sweat, bottom sheet soaked in milk. Ah the joys. My once nice white bedding is forever stained that attractive sweat stain colour on my side

I didn't with my first but I certainly remember this with my 2nd.

My first thought was that I'd gone straight into the menopause! It lasted about 6 weeks iirc.

(and now I do get night sweats due to the menpause )

belgo · 12/08/2008 12:28

no that never happened to me.

ThatBigGermanPrison · 12/08/2008 12:31

I sweated a lot after ds2, and wasn't breastfeeding. I think is a hormonal adjustment thing.

Tatties · 12/08/2008 12:33

Yes this happened to me too

bb99 · 12/08/2008 12:42

Yes - loads of sweat. I think it's to do with hormones and your body getting rid of the extra fluid it need for the extra blood etc you had when you were pg.

poppy34 · 12/08/2008 12:46

yes utterly disgusting... seemed to get bit easier after 2/3 weeks but that maybe as put fan on

Mummyfor3 · 12/08/2008 12:50

Oh, yes!! Lots and lots of unladylike sweating, not only at night in bed...
DS now 20 weeks, still BFing, still sweating...

belgo · 12/08/2008 12:52

so it's not definitely due to breastfeeding? it could just be a post pregnancy thing that some women get, but not others?

ilovemydog · 12/08/2008 12:59

yes.
