One breast much bigger than the other!

Bit mortified that having recovered from mastitis in my left breast my milk flow on that side is much heavier than from my right breast. My left breast is about twice as big as my right even after feeds from the left!! The mastitis kicked in when ds was 3 weeks old and got better in week 6. He is now 12 weeks old. Feeling self-concious and worrying about even-ing out for my wedding next year! Has anyone experienced this and managed to remedy the situation?

Hi EmmyJo!
I got abscess when LO was 2 weeks old, was put on antibiotics for nearly 3 weeks. It all luckily cleared but now and again I do seem to notice that one of my breasts is bigger then another one. I am just trying to express more from that site mainly because LO seems to prefer another site much better
Not sure if that helped.

yes i am v lopsided. no-one else seems to notice though. it went away when i stoped bf last time, and reccured when pg again and increased now bf. not related to mastitis etc with me. lo much prefers bigger side as milk flow better. hardly feeds on R at all. have posted on here before about it, had much reassurance from other MNers that is seems quite common.

My left is also bigger as that's ds2's favourite side and the supply is much better. I'm 18 mo in now and he still prefers that side so I'm still lopsided but I think it's only noticeable to me.

Once your supply becomes more established and you stop getting hugely full between each feed the difference is less obvious too.
