Thank god for Infant Gaviscon

My son is 2 weeks old and since he was around 4 days old he has been a very difficult baby... Screaming at night, eating constantly due & a nightmare to burp/wind. Urgent Care advised us he has reflux as he was spitting up yellow but never did anything. A health visitor mentioned colic so I've spent 2 weeks in tears watching my son struggle.

Today my partner went to the pharmacy and they gave him infant Gaviscon and I can honestly say he's a different child.

Before anyone says you need to phone a GP/get it prescribed we did speak to the pharmacist about it & I will be phoning the GP to get it put on his record he's taking it but I'm putting this in here to see if anyone else has similar stories... Did they notice any side effects etc?

Don't have similar stories but remember feeling so helpless when mine were tiny so it must be such a relief for you💞

I had similar with my first @burneidean. Has he been assessed by a Tongue Tie Practitioner?

My daughter had really bad constipation on gaviscon. It did help her but this side effect wasn’t great. I used to give her some cooled boiled water between feeds to try lesson the constipation but sometimes it was quite bad. Not so bad that I stopped giving her the gaviscon. Eventually the gp also gave me some medication for constipation for her too.

We’ve had it prescribed today, GP advised with 1/2 a dose at first and see how he gets on for a couple of days to reduce the risk of constipation, so glad it’s worked for you 🙌🏼

How are things now @burneidean?

My
youngest was prescribed infant gaviscon and it worked well. No side effects ! Prior to this I was having to full change his clothes more than 10 times a day !!!
