Hi There,

I've been bottle feeding my 6 month old for about 2 weeks and give him Aptamil as this is what I gave his brother.

I'm thinking of switching to an organic formula (eg Hipp Organic) and, TBA, it's also driven by miney as it's costing me 28 euros an week and I need to make the family allowance strech a little further and the Hipp organic is 4 euros a box cheaper.

Is it OK to just swtich over the brand?

thanks

Absolutely fine.

sannie - nothing wrong with swapping at all. Your health visitor should confirm this.

I switched from Aptamil to Hipp (First formula, rather than follow on) and it was fine, although it did seem as though dd was a bit constipated at first. I think because the prebiotics in Aptamil make their poo's runnier. If you do change I would stick with it for a week so that his digestion can adapt (unless of course he is in discomfort!)

I did this with DD (admittedly she was a little older) with no probs whatsoever. HIPP organic is great stuff and as you said a lot cheaper! As hazeyjane said it may take a few days for your lo to adjust to it, but should be fine otherwise.
