DD is 13 months and happily made the transition from formula to cows milk. At the mo offer her milk in bottles but thinking maybe we should try somethig else, should i try and wesn her off bottles or keep bedtime as bottle for now? What did you use?

DS is exactly the same. I keep meaning to try and switch to a beaker at night but I always find an excuse to put it off (he's over tired / he's not feeling well / it's Tuesday)

There was a thread recently which recommended these for that purpose

Thanks for the link, we have a similar one for water/ juice during the day.

I just went cold turkey with ds1. At 12 months I decided to drop bottles and swapped to beakers. He wasn't impressed at first, but after 2 or 3 days realised that it was that or nothing and was fine.

We started using Tommee Tippe cups (the ones with the spout) and gave day time drinks (i.e. water or juice) in those so she got used to them. Then eventually dropped her night time bottle and gave it to her in a cup but tbh she does not drink much milk so it didnt bother her.

It did take her a while to get to grips with the tommee tippe cups.

It's only at bedtime that he has a bottle, he drinks from an open cup or with a straw during the day. I'm just wary of upsetting the bedtime routine by getting rid of the bottle.

I think I'll just have to go cold turkey though. He's poorly at the moment though so I'll wait

I used these avent magic cup spouts to replace the teats on DDs bottles to get her used to drinking milk from a beaker( she was always fine with water/juice from a beaker). She was about 18months when we made the swap I think as we are about to do the same with S who is 16 months now.
