Pumping whilst little one sleeps?

My 7 week old has just started sleeing 6 hour stretches over night. I mostly breastfeed her with the occasional top up of formula or expressed milk. When she's slept these long stretches I've taken the opportunity to also sleep. But should I be pumping to protect my supply?

Gosh no. If she’s sleeping for 6 hours enjoy your sleep!

Your body will automatically adjust how much milk you make to match what your baby needs. The human race has survived for a long time without breast pumps!

No just sleep honestly! Your supply will adjust to what your DD wants and needs - she’s probably having a big feed when she wakes up

I think it’s great that you’re getting a longer stretch of sleep! It’s easy to worry about whether you’re doing enough, but finding a balance that works for you and your baby is important too. Hopefully you can enjoy the extra rest while seeing how your routine naturally settles over the next few weeks.
