Anyone find breast feeding making them feel depressed? I don’t actually mean cos it’s time consuming I mean hormonally….

“If you feel a sudden, brief wave of sadness, anxiety, or dread right before your milk lets down, you may be experiencing Dysphoric Milk Ejection Reflex (D-MER). It is a physiological, hormone-driven response—often tied to an improper dopamine drop—and not a psychological reaction to your baby.”

My DSis found breastfeeding depressing. Her baby was little and had a weak suck and DSis is not a person who finds body stuff easy. She switched to bottle-feeding after 3 weeks and her mood improved dramatically. I think she also felt she had more control.
